Tips on garden, paving & natural stone

Durable paving stands or falls with the sub-base. We excavate the ground professionally, build a load-bearing frost-protection and gravel layer and compact it in layers with a plate compactor. Only then follow the bedding and the surface itself.

Costs depend mainly on three things: the area, the chosen material (concrete, granite or natural stone) and the effort for sub-base and drainage. Driveways need a stronger build-up than pure walkways because they carry vehicle loads.

Also plan a slight slope for water run-off and clean edge restraints – they keep the paving in shape for the long term. During the free site visit we check the ground, access and drainage and prepare a transparent fixed-price quote.

Natural stone such as granite, sandstone or limestone stands out through uniqueness: every slab is one of a kind, the look is high-quality and ages beautifully. Natural stone is very durable, but usually more expensive to buy and, depending on the type, needs a little more care.

Concrete stone is cheaper, extremely versatile in shape, colour and format and, thanks to modern facing layers, today looks very close to natural stone. It is dimensionally stable, easy to plan and low-maintenance – ideal when a uniform look and a clear budget are the priority.

1. Taking stock & wishes: First we look at the soil, light conditions, slope and existing vegetation. Just as important is how you want to use the garden – relaxation, family, low-maintenance or representative.

2. Planning: On this basis we plan paths, terraces, beds, lawns and – where needed – walls and drainage. Good planning prevents later surprises and keeps the budget in check.

3. Preparation & sub-base: Earthworks, drainage and load-bearing sub-bases are the foundation for a result that lasts many years – with our own equipment we do this quickly and cleanly.

4. Implementation & handover: Paving, planting, rolled turf and fine work are carried out on time. Finally, we hand over a finished, tidy garden.
